This is the Itoshima Arts Farm 2020 that we were not able to hold last year. Under the theme “Human Scale”, we announced our statement “from our human-sized selves to all the adjacent lands, artists unfold their own expression”.
However, the world was shut down by a pandemic and the 2020 festival was postponed. Looking back at that statement, we wonder if we have become more timid about things such as knowing ourselves and others and starting a conversation, in this world where communication has switched from face-to-face to online, opportunities for expression have been lost, and a divide has appeared with regard of what is fact and what is fiction.
For Itoshima Arts Farm 2021 we would like to keep looking into our human scale, the scale of those of us who experienced (or are experiencing) social distancing. We aim for a world where everyone respects each other’s human scale and lifestyle.
